CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- Al Qaeda's No. 2 leader issued a worldwide call Thursday for Muslims to rise up in a holy war against Israel and join the fighting in Lebanon and Gaza until Islam reigns from "Spain to Iraq."

In a taped message broadcast by Al-Jazeera television, Ayman al-Zawahiri said the terrorist organization would not stand idly by while "these (Israeli) shells burn our brothers.

"All the world is a battlefield open in front of us," said the Egyptian-born al-Zawahiri, second-in-command to Osama bin Laden.

"The war with Israel does not depend on cease-fires. It is a Jihad for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails ... from Spain to Iraq," al-Zawahiri said. "We will attack everywhere." Spain was controlled by Arab Muslims until they were driven from the country at the turn of the 16th century.

Al-Zawahiri declared that Arab regimes were complicit in Israeli fighting against Hezbollah and the Palestinians.

"My fellow Muslims, it is obvious that Arab and Islamic governments are not only impotent but also complicit...and you are alone on the battlefield. Rely on God and fight your enemies...make yourselves martyrs."

Iran forces urged to prepare to hit Israel

Iran's hard line forces should get ready to take revenge on Israel and the United States for the offensive on Lebanon, the head of the Revolutionary Guards was quoted as saying on Sunday.

"The Basij and Revolutionary Guards should prepare to get even with the Zionists and Americans," Yahya Rahim-Safavi was quoted as telling Islamic militiamen by the conservative Fars news agency.

The Basij are volunteer Islamic militiamen.

"The timing of the this will be announced by the leader," he added.

World War III?

Olmert hopes for "eternal covenant" with Arabs

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Monday that he hoped an "eternal covenant" could soon be signed between Israel and its neighbors.

"Israel didn't want these confrontations, on the contrary, we did our utmost to avoid them by withdrawing to borders recognized by the international community," said the prime minister.

Olmert added that Israel had no business in involving itself with the internal struggles within Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority adding, "our problem is with the terrorists attacking us from those territories."

Olmert on Fox News with these words written below him: "Olmert: We seek a covenant of peace."

Therefore, consider the message and understand the vision:

 24 "Seventy 'sevens' ^[c] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish ^[d] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy. ^[e]

 25 "Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree ^[f] to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, ^[g] the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. ^[h] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' ^[i] In the middle of the 'seven' ^[j] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. ^[k] " ^[l]

UN sets meeting to begin planning Lebanon force

Countries interested in participating in an international force for Lebanon are to gather at UN headquarters on Monday to begin planning, UN and diplomatic sources said.

Kofi Annan, the UN secretary-general, called the meeting and will act as the chairperson, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to pre-empt the UN leader's announcement.

The goal is to begin discussions on the type of force to deploy and its rules of engagement. Annan asked the UN peacekeeping department earlier this week to organise the meeting in anticipation of Security Council approval of such a force, the sources said.

US not contributing any troops
Many potential troop contributing countries have been invited, but the sources declined to identify them. Washington has ruled out contributing troops to the force.

Major powers have said a force could not be deployed while fighting continued and without the consent of Israel, Lebanon and the Hizbollah organisation.

An international conference in Rome on Wednesday failed to reach agreement on how and when the end the fighting, but did agree on the need for an international military force with a security council mandate to secure the Israeli-Lebanese border once the conflict ended.

This is our end time wake up call, and we can no longer tell people what they want to hear.

The Beast out of the Sea

 9He who has an ear, let him hear.  10If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go.
   If anyone is to be killed^[c] with the sword,  with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

The Beast out of the Earth

 11Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. 12He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. 14Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

 18This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
